Kurzweil

Kurzweil text recognition software allows students to listen to and read scanned text, image text, digital files and internet pages. In order to utilize Kurzweil through DSP you will need to be approved and attend a training with the Adaptive Technology Specialist.

Livescribe

The Livescribe Echo Smartpen allows students to record and play back lectures, discussions and other audio. Then, using a USB cable, they can transfer their notes and audio to their computer.

 

Dragon

Dragon Naturally Speaking allows students to dictate documents, search the web and email by using their voice. In order to utilize Dragon through DSP you will need to be approved and attend a training with the Adaptive Technology Specialist.

Otter

Otter.ai is a transcription tool that can be used to caption conversations, lectures, and videos. It can also be used as a dictation tool for documents.

 

 

Sonocent

Sonocent Audio Notetaker is a desktop software that can be used on PCs and Macs that allows students to capture high-quality audio recordings and, in real-time annotate, with colors, photos and text notes. An Android and iOS app is also available.

Glean

Glean, from the makers of Sonocent, is a more streamlined audio notes desktop application. Users can incorporate bulletpoints and bookmark key moments alongside the audio track while still giving their full attention to the lecture.

 

JAWS

JAWS, Job Access With Speech, is a screen reader developed for computer users whose vision loss prevents them from seeing screen content or navigating with a mouse.

Zoomtext

Zoomtext is a magnification and screen reading software for the visually impaired. ZoomText enlarges, enhances and reads everything on the computer screen.
