UCSB hosts the CIRM COMPASS Program (California Institute for Regenerative Medicine), which provides:
- Up to $18,000 per year in funding
- Hands-on research experience in stem cells and regenerative medicine
- Mentorship, academic support, and professional development resources
The program is committed to expanding access to research opportunities and uplifting students from underrepresented backgrounds in STEM, helping build a more inclusive and supportive pipeline into scientific careers.
During this info session, students will:
- Learn how to get paid to conduct stem cell and regenerative medicine research on campus
- Explore opportunities in stem cells, microbiology, tissue engineering, and related fields
- Hear directly from current CIRM COMPASS scholars during a student panel and Q&A
Second-year students are especially encouraged to attend, though all interested students are welcome.
