Please log into Gold as soon as possible to confirm that your account reflects the information listed above. If you have a question, please review these FAQs carefully for an answer before reaching out to DSP.
More information on pass times and deadlines is listed on the Registrar's 2024-2025 Registration Pass Times webpage.

- Make sure you are looking at the correct quarter! The date may look just a day or two off if you are looking at right quarter in the wrong year. This happens more than you would expect!
- If you don't have a pass time listed at all, make sure you did not declare degree candidacy for a previous quarter that you forgot to undeclare.
- If you don't have a pass time listed at all, make sure you have completed registration and payment for the previous quarter.
Students approved for provisional services: Permanent DSP students receive priority registration to improve access to appropriate class times/final exam times that do not conflict with their approved accommodations. Because you are not currently approved to utilize your accommodations in future quarters, you are not eligible for priority registration. If you have already provided updated documentation but have not been switched to non-provisional (i.e. permanent) status, please email your specialist to have your profile updated.
Email DSP's Support Services Coordinator, Kalli Talafus, at ktalafus@ucsb.edu as soon as possible. You must provide your full name and perm number in your email.
Kalli will send your information to the Registrar's office. The Registrar's office has to run an update job every time a new student needs to be corrected, so they usually wait until the end of the week to run everyone all at once. Please do not send Kalli a follow-up email unless your pass time/unit cap are still incorrect on the Monday after you emailed.
Due to the volume of emails about PR, Kalli may not respond to your email asking for a correction. But please be assured that she has seen it and will work with the Registrar's office to correct it.
You receive priority registration to improve access to appropriate class times/final exam times that do not conflict with your approved accommodations. It is your responsibility to ensure that your classes and final exams will not overlap once an accommodation is in place.
DSP cannot change exam start times without an instructor's written (i.e. email) approval. It is at the instructor's discretion to approve time/date changes (this does not include students with modified start time, exam reschedule, etc.). If your exams overlap after extended time has been added and your instructor(s) deny alternate start times, you will not be able to receive your full extended time for one or both exams.
Please also note that all exams must end by 10:30 pm. If you have a 7:30-10:30 pm final, your extended time will be added to the front, which may cause a conflict with a final scheduled to start at 4 pm. If you aren't sure when the final for a class will be when you are registering, you can refer to the calendars the Registrar's office provides on their website.
If you end up with exams overlapping despite your PR, we encourage you to reach out to your instructor(s) early in the quarter. Do not wait until the last minute!
Make certain that you are prepared to take advantage of your priority registration by meeting with your academic adviser if necessary.
